Naweed Hayat, M.D.

Dr. Hayat is board certified in psychiatry and is an expert in the evaluation and treatment of mental health conditions. At Mental Health and Wellness Associates, Dr. Hayat performs comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, follow-up medication management, and psychotherapy. He is an expert in the use of telepsychiatry (Telehealth) to provide high-quality and top psychiatry care to patients from all over California.

At Mental Health and Wellness Associates, Dr. Hayat works with adults who are 18 years and older and adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. He enjoys working with those who have never seen a psychiatrist before and those who are seeking a second opinion or a new start to their care.

Dr. Hayat is trained to assess and treat depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, insomnia, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. He provides a comprehensive evaluation which includes a diagnosis and treatment recommendations. He works with patients to provide top-quality and evidence-based medication management through close and individualized follow-up plans.

A graduate of UCLA, Dr. Hayat majored in Neuroscience. He completed medical school at the University of Arizona and psychiatry residency training at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He is currently receiving additional training in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at UC San Diego.

Dr. Hayat is fluent in Farsi/Dari, Hindi/Urdu, and Pashto. He is currently available to see patients in the State of California by secure telemedicine.
