Medication Management Q&A

How Often Are Appointments?

The frequency of patient appointments is individualized to best meet your needs and treatment
goals. In many cases, the follow up appointments are scheduled around when medications are
ready to be adjusted and/or refilled. Initially the follow up appointments may be more requent. Once a Mental Health and Wellness Associate patient is doing better and their symptoms stabilize, they will often spread out the frequency of the appointments.

Every patient has different needs, but initially, follow up appointments may be every two weeks
or so. Then over time our doctors work with their patient to spread them out to every month,
then every two months and finally to every three months when the patient is doing well and
stable on medications.

How Long Are Appointments?

Follow up appointments are 30 minutes. During the follow up appointment there is no rush and
you and your doctor will be able to cover the topics and updates that are needed to provide you with individualized care and treatment.

The top psychiatrists at Mental Health and Wellness Associates evaluate the whole patient and
their progress in several specific areas. For example, if they are having any side effects from treatment, their improvement in their symptoms and also if they are making progress in achieving their goals. Patients have the opportunity to ask questions and have all concerns addressed during the follow-up appointment.
